Downfalls
"In January 1990, Trump flew to Los Angeles to unveil a plan to build a $1 billion commercial and residential project featuring a 125-story office building. In 1990, unfortunatly for Trump, that the real estate market fell causing his own net reduce from an estimated $1.7 billion to $500 million. This was one of his first downfalls in the real estate business" (Suddath, Claire).
"Trump's economic problems continued in the early '90s, while he was personally leveraged to nearly $1 billion. In 2004, Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts also filed for bankruptcy. The company was only a small portion of Trump's real estate empire, but he did still have to personally find $72 million to keep it alive" (Suddath, Claire). In 2009, the same company filed for bankruptcy again. Yet, i don't think during all of this, someone ever told Trump, "You're fired!" Probably because no one could at that time.
But, since no one was able to replace Donald, it was all up to him to take care of his own mistakes which is why I think this downfall is valid. What makes a good manager is the one who can stand for themselves, for their team and their own mistakes. Trump showed that after one of the largest most valid downfalls, which made him much stronger and more confident in the field of real estate.
